- Respect – Every human being, irrespective of their power or strength, has the right to be treated with respect. HREC treats all people with dignity and respect, without regard to their individual beliefs, background or culture. Teaching the value of respect is central to HREC’s mission.
- Equality and Diversity – HREC services and supports are available to all people – irrespective of individual differences. HREC acknowledges that all people grapple with individual prejudices and stereotypes. We embrace and teach the values of diversity and equality as a strategy to achieve more inclusive and respectful communities.
- Compassion and Empathy – HREC strategically fosters empathy by teaching and practicing compassion with all people. We express sensitivity to the needs, desires and interests of all people through compassion and a sincere desire to achieve equality in our community.
