Established in 1999, HREC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has worked tirelessly to meet the challenges of intolerance and incivility in Utah. We teach empathy and bullying prevention education. We provide educational programs that teach respect and fairness that will help build the skills necessary to challenge bullying, and all forms of prejudice and discrimination.
In addition, HREC provides strategic leadership trainings/workshops for health-care providers, businesses and community and faith-based organizations. We teach collaborative leadership styles that reveal the collective wisdom of the participants.
HREC advocates for public policies that promote equality, diversity and respect for everyone. HREC was instrumental in getting a Utah Anti-Bullying Resolution passed in the 2006 legislative session.
HREC has been recognized for our work in the community with many awards, including the prestigious Alliance for Unity Award in 2005 and The 2007 Award from The Utah Commission for Women and Families.
We currently have a number of community projects in support of our mission. Read more under Services.
